Welcome to the “Lindada Nur Collection”
Our inaugural offering is dedicated to restoring one of nature’s most vital keystone species: the Chinook salmon. Lindada Nur, meaning “lead spirit of the old-time salmon spirits” in the Winnemem Wintu language, represents the sacred force guiding salmon on their journey from rivers to oceans and back.
To honor this spirit, the collection features photographic art showcasing a handmade abalone salmon, crafted by a Winnemem Wintu artist. Abalone, revered for its iridescent shimmer, is ocean medicine—each layer a reflective portal into the unseen world where Lindada Nur resides.
Rooted in the Winnemem Wintu prophecy of the ice waterfall and the salmon's return to the headwaters of Mt. Shasta via the Flower Trail, this collection embodies our broader salmon restoration initiative. Through this abalone-inspired designs, we symbolically call the salmon home, overcoming dams, vanishing habitats, and declining populations across California and Aotearoa (New Zealand).
With only a few years left to reclaim the original McCloud River salmon eggs from New Zealand, we face a critical race against time.
Each piece in the Lindada Nur Collection weaves art, ceremony, and tangible action together. It serves as a powerful invitation to decolonize, restore, and safeguard the sacred bond among salmon, people, and place.
